Planning for the festive break also puts January 2022 into focus – and it’s a great time to try something new! Veganuary brings us 31 days of eating vegan to help us all embrace a vegan lifestyle.
Launched in the UK in January 2014, Veganuary is a non-profit organisation that encourages people to try a vegan lifestyle for January and beyond. Veganuary is focused on changing consumer behaviours and attitudes, while providing all the information and practical support required to make the transition to veganism as easy and as enjoyable as possible through the month. Since the campaign started, more than 1.5 million people have signed up to try a vegan diet through a series of informative emails, social media content, a Facebook support group, and a website full of helpful resources like recipes, a starter kit and meal plans.
98% of participants surveyed in 2020 said they would recommend Veganuary to others. This year saw an even bigger increase with more than 580,000 people from 209 countries taking part in Veganuary 2021 by signing-up to give a vegan diet a try.
Veganuary predict even more numbers of people signing up and getting involved for 2022 and we are collectively encouraging everyone who cares about climate change to take part this January.
The highlight of the 2022 campaign will be Veganuary’s first animated ad! Featuring a loveable legend bound to make a big impression, the ad will highlight how easy and delicious cutting your carbon footprint can be with the help of Veganuary. Their heart-warming ad will premiere in cinemas across the UK on Boxing Day and run until 1 January.

The Vegan Trademark – you are likely to start recognising The Vegan Society’s Vegan Trademark on many of the products you buy at the supermarket or online this Veganuary. The Vegan Trademark is the oldest vegan labelling campaign, and we created it to help people find and enjoy vegan options, knowing that the hard work of ingredient checking has been done for you.
We register products by working with brands to ensure each one is free from animal ingredients and animal testing, and that cross contamination has been minimised. You can find it on over 56,000 products worldwide, including on food and drink items, but also across fashion, cosmetics, toiletries, infant care, homewares, restaurant menu items and of course, on our multivitamin that provides seven key nutrients that are an essential part of a vegan lifestyle – VEG 1.
