Vegan ready meal options in supermarkets have greatly improved in both availability and creativity recently, but if you often find yourself out and about without lunch, you might prefer the made-in-house offerings of a vegan-friendly café to that of a supermarket.That's why we’ve compiled a list of some of the best “local to you” cafes offering a membership discount.

London
Katakata is a vegan friendly cafe and arts space located in Brixton, London that serves French galettes, crepes and freshly pressed fruit juice. Customers love the relaxed and vibrant atmosphere paired with very friendly staff. Katakata also provides a 15% discount with a Vegan Society membership card.
South West England
Vegan Society members looking for a discount for breakfast and lunch in Cornwall can visit Archie Browns in Penzance and Truro. Archie Browns is a health food shop that has a vegetarian and vegan café, has loads of positive reviews on both Facebook and Happy Cow, and gives 10% discount for Vegan Society membership card holders.
On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays you can get the same discount (with a minimum spend of £5) at the Road Shack Café, a vegetarian American diner located in Peacehaven who source their fruit, veg, cakes and sweets locally to offer customers fresh, homemade food. Their menu consists of all day breakfast, all day pancakes, and delicious burgers, all with clearly labelled vegan options.
Wales
The Herb Garden Café is a vegan friendly cafe based in Powys, Wales. Their ingredients are sourced locally where possible, and they have a menu which includes home-made cakes, rolls, scones, and teacakes. The Herb Garden Café is open Monday – Saturday and a 5% discount is available for Vegan Society members who show a membership card.
Midlands
3 Three’s Coffee Lounge is a vegetarian and vegan specialty coffee shop in the Birmingham city centre which serves all vegan meals that are made in house. They have sandwiches, wraps and paninis with mock meats and vegan cheese, hot dogs and nachos, as well as all sorts of delicious baked treats and vegan ice cream.
Another option in Birmingham is the Warehouse Café, a vegetarian and vegan café that opens twice a day for lunchtime and dinnertime only. Dishes served depend on the availability of fresh and seasonal ingredients - they offer starters, mains and desserts throughout the week and a very popular vegan Sunday roast menu between 12 and 3 pm on Sundays. Meanwhile, vegans who find themselves in Leamington Spa can count on The Garden Shed Café for great homemade vegan food. This little cafe serves vegan all-day breakfast, grilled sandwiches, wraps, and daily specials, made with their homemade vegan cheeses and their vegan version of the Scottish Lorne sausage where applicable. Facebook reviews are praising the friendly service and amazing cakes, so it is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
On top of all these lovely vegan food options, Vegan Society members get 10% discount at all three places.
North England
Eighth Day Co-Operative is a vegan friendly cafe based in Manchester. The menu changes daily and they offer food from around the world including pies, risottos, enchiladas, layered bakes, gratins, pasta dishes, and pilaffs. There is also a salad bar and they source vegan cakes from local bakeries. Get a 5% discount with your membership card.
Scotland
Scotland has two vegan-friendly cafes that offer a 10% Vegan Society membership discount. An Tobar, on the Isle of Mull, is a veggie café serving lunch between 12 pm and 3pm, offering homemade vegan soups, pita and veggies with hummus and salad bowls, along with some vegan sweet treats, while Nourish feeds the Inverness veggies and vegans with their homemade, seasonal menu consisting of soup, main meal-options and a large selection of cakes.
