A time to celebrate
Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. Taking place from the 1-7 June 2014, The Vegan Society has a lot going on - because we have so many amazing volunteers to celebrate and we know we wouldn’t be where we are today without them!
To thank the volunteers and spend some fun down-time together, we’re throwing a party especially for them. This will also be a great opportunity for the volunteers to meet each other. The Vegan Society has many types of volunteers, some being office-based and some volunteering remotely across the country. All are invited to the party at Vegan HQ to celebrate and acknowledge their incredible efforts and devotion. We will also take this opportunity to present volunteers with certificates acknowledging the hours they’ve donated to The Vegan Society.
Alongside this, we’re putting a spotlight on volunteers across our social media. We’ll showcase volunteers in different roles who we have worked closely with us over the past year. We also want others to see how they can become involved as volunteers with the Society and how enjoyable and rewarding it can be.
At the beginning of July we are excited to be holding our first Volunteer of the Year Awards, which has two categories: Volunteer of the Year and Young Volunteer of the Year. The two volunteers will will receive some fantastic prizes, including a trip to the amazing V-Delicious 2014 show in London’s Olympia, where the awards will be presented. We’ll notify the two winners early - during Volunteers' Week - so we can announce their new titles as part of the Week's celebrations.
