Our Grow Green campaign sparks the first transition from animal to plant agriculture
Vegetarian ‘beef’ farmer Jay has made the first step towards a more ethical and environmentally beneficial future by turning his cow farm into a stock-free one, thanks to the help of The Vegan Society’s Grow Green campaign. The Grow Green campaign is a long-term initiative that aims to influence the government to stop subsidising unsustainable animal farming and instead support farmers to transition to farming plant protein crops.
A stock-free farm does not use any animal products at all, including manure, and here at The Vegan Society we have assembled experts in the field (such as Iain Tolhurst and Vegan Organic Network) to help facilitate the move to a vegan farm.
Thanks to Hillside Sanctuary in Norfolk, all the cows on the farm are soon to be rehomed, to live out their lives in peace.
