At the Society we realise just how important it is to reach new audiences if we want to grow public interest in vegan lifestyles. With this in mind, in October 2013, we had a stall at the Om Yoga Show at the Olympia in London. This gave us great exposure to a non-vegan audience that potentially shares some of our key values.
Our presence at a non-vegan event helped us raise our profile and promote the Vegan Trademark. 500 colourful tote bags displaying the vegan logo and containing vegan trademarked products were given out during the event, allowing visitors to sample the variety of vegan products available, and also to promote veganism by taking the tote bags displaying the logo out into the wider world.
Some of our trademark holders also had stalls at the event, which provided a fantastic opportunity for us to support each other when responding to visitors wanting to find out more about products or general information relating to veganism.
During the event we increased our funding through membership, donations, and purchases of merchandise, and we welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with Vegan Society members and other visitors, to listen to their feedback on the work of the Vegan Society, and to provide in excess of 1000 people with membership details and general information on the many positive aspects of veganism.
Following on from the success of this first visit, we plan to take out another stall at the next Om Yoga Show. Anyone interested in meeting us, visiting our stall or just attending the event can find out more information about it on the website. We hope to see you there! http://www.omyogashow.com/london/home.php
