Visitors to this year’s Cheltenham Science Festival were invited to join The Vegan Society for a discussion about the links between the food we eat and climate change.
On Wednesday 5 June, our panel discussion with Dr Richard Twine, Professor Tim Lang and Dr Tara Garnett, ‘Meat and Potatoes or Two Veg’, was delivered to a captive audience of around 200 people.
Continuing the debate with a relaxed drinks reception (generously sponsored by Maria Borlotti organic vineyards, Clearspring Organics, Dominion Brewery Company and Cheltenham Science Festival) leaps and bounds were made in initiating real dialogue amongst members of the public.
This was a fantastic opportunity to introduce the wider issues surrounding veganism to people who had never previously considered or researched plant-based living. Such was the success that several audience members even mentioned they were inspired to reconsider their food choices following the event as they felt more informed.
Don’t worry if you missed it! You can watch our short video with exclusive interviews of our panelists.
