2015 not only marks the 25th year of the Vegan Trademark, but the year that The Vegan Society hosted one of the world's biggest vegan pavilions at trade show NOPE 2015 in April.
Trade shows are often unheard of territory for those who are not in the commercial business world. They can come in all shapes and sizes, are held in a variety of countries, and focus on specific types of businesses and markets.
You may be wondering why The Vegan Society, an educational charity, attends such shows. The answer is simple: a large proportion of the society’s outreach work is funded by the Vegan Trademark registration scheme, which the society offers to suitable vegan products and businesses.
DID YOU KNOW? 75% of Vegan Trademark business comes from outside the UK, with Germany having the most Trademark holders.
Over the past few years, more and more vegan options have been appearing at these trade shows, and the NOPE show (Natural Organic Products Europe) is no exception. As The Vegan Society stands at the forefront of vegan product innovation, the NOPE show is a perfect place to showcase all of the fantastic businesses the society works with, as well as the perfect place to encourage more businesses to get on board.
Vegan Trademark holders, old and new, joined The Vegan Society under the Vegan Trademark Pavilion on the 19th and 20th of April at the Excel centre in London Docklands. The bustling show, packed full of exhibitors and visitors looking to sell, distribute and expand their businesses were engaging with the society. The vegan pavilion, hosted by The Vegan Society at the NOPE show since 2012, was the biggest it has ever been, making it a contender for the biggest vegan pavilion ever held. The pavilion featured 21 businesses showcasing vegan products, while The Vegan Society’s own stall distributed 2,000 goody bags, packed with samples kindly donated by our Trademark holders; LUSH, Earth Friendly Products, Conscious Chocolates and Creative Nature being just some of the names among them.
DID YOU KNOW? Approximately 18,000 products are registered and licensed to use the Vegan Trademark, with the numbers ever on the rise.
With such a buzzing atmosphere, the show was a great success among visitors and exhibitors alike. Meeting with high profile companies has helped the society secure more exposure for the Vegan Trademark, meaning an increased likelihood that there’ll be more vegan options on the market - and thus more vegan products in your cupboards!
If you are a business and would like to join The Vegan Society in exhibiting at such events like these in the future, the next trade show events are as follows:
Free From Food Show, Barcelona, 4 - 5th June 2015.
Natural Organic Products Scandinavia, 1 - 2nd November 2015.
