I hold a Ph.D. in Health Sciences and work as a nursing professor at the University of Cádiz (Spain). I am also a researcher in the Nutrition: Biomolecular, Pathophysiological, and Socio-Health Aspects research group at the Cádiz Biomedical Research Institute (INiBICA) (ORCID; Scopus Author ID; SciProfiles).
My research focuses on the links between human nutrition and public health, primarily employing quantitative primary research, including descriptive cross-sectional studies and clinical trials.
I have a strong interest in vegan diets and the health-diet-environment trilemma. Among my most recent publications in JCR-indexed journals (Q1) is Attitudes and Beliefs of Primary Care Physicians and Nurses in Spain Toward Vegan Diets (DOI: 10.3390/NU16233992), which has been disseminated to the general public through two scientific communication platforms: The Conversation and Scientias.
Other published articles include: Effectiveness of an Interactive mHealth App (EVITE) in Improving Lifestyle After a Coronary Event: Randomized Controlled Trial (DOI: 10.2196/48756); Motivation and Limiting Factors for Adherence to Weight Loss Interventions among Patients with Obesity in Primary Care (DOI: 10.3390/NU14142928); Design and Validation of a Scale of Knowledge of Cardiovascular Risk Factors and Lifestyle after Coronary Event (DOI: 10.3390/JCM11102773); Evaluation of Obesity Management Recorded in Electronic Clinical History: A Cohort Study (DOI: 10.3390/JCM9082345)
