Olivier Peter (he) acts before Swiss and foreign courts, mainly in the field of criminal law and public international law. Particularly experienced in the management of complex affairs, he is specialised in extradition cases as well as in international proceedings. He regularly presents claims before United Nations mechanisms and other international bodies in order to assist human rights defenders and victims of torture or other ill-treatments.
His expertise in these areas has allowed him to obtain 10 judgments in his clients’ favor by the European Court of Human Rights. He is currently involved in around 15 other cases pending before this same Court and before United Nations committees.
Olivier is treasurer of the World Organization Against Torture and alternate member of the Geneva Bar Committee.
He is also a member of the Association of Progressive Lawyers (Association des jurists progressistes - AJP), of the Geneva Bar Commission (ODAGE), of the Swiss Society of Jurists, of the Swiss Society of International Law and of the Swiss Society of Criminal Law.
He practices in French, English, Spanish, Italian and Catalan.
