I am Dr Seyma Esin Erben, originally from Türkiye and currently residing in Malta. As an academic and activist, my research interests are focused on veganism and digital communication practices. I hold a PhD in digital activism and currently work as an Assistant Professor, lecturing online for master’s courses while also researching as a postdoctoral intern at the University of Malta.
My studies explore but are not limited to vegan activists' presence and representation in social networks and digital activism. I examine the intersection of digital ecological activism and veganism, analysing how online platforms shape advocacy and discourse. Additionally, I am interested in critical studies on the commodification of veganism through digital media messages and the mainstream media’s portrayal of veganism.
