Bethany Francis, Vegan Society Researcher Network
Cardiff Univeristy, School of Geography and Planning

I am a researcher specialising in human/non-human animal relations, ethical consumption, environmental governance, and veganism. My academic background includes a BA in Religious Studies and Politics, followed by an MSc in Environment and Development at Cardiff University. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at Cardiff University, exploring the question: "Is the National Healthcare System Able to Support Vegan Parents in the UK?"

My research integrates interdisciplinary approaches, drawing from political ecology, ethical consumerism, and public policy. I have experience in qualitative research methods such as semi-structured interviews which I have used to examine the social, political, and institutional dimensions of veganism. As a committed vegan for the past seven years, my academic and personal interests align in advocating for a more sustainable and ethical future.
