Jonathan is a senior lawyer in the Department of Health, advising on pensions and associated workforce and employment matters. Prior to coming into Government, Jonathan worked in private practice, specialising in general criminal, fraud and regulatory law. Jonathan spent five years working almost exclusively on public order matters, representing a range of anti-war, environmental and animal rights protestors and so has a good grasp of protest related law and the associated ECHR rights and issues.
Jonathan has a strong working knowledge of public law (policy development, consultation, ECHR challenges, judicial review and other court actions) as well as the law in relation to information rights, data protection and freedom of information.
Most days, Jonathan can be found walking the coast of North Yorkshire with his partner and their dog and two cats (yep, cats like to take stroll as much as anyone!).
