Veganism at the International Vegetarian Union (IVU) World Congress
Our CEO, Jasmijn de Boo, took time out of her holiday travels to attend the 40th International Vegetarian Union (IVU) World Congress from 5-16 October 2012.
Speaking just before John Robbins (author of the germinal ‘Diet for a New America’ book), Jasmijn gave a plenary talk on the Vegan Pledge (view her talk below). She discussed effective vegan outreach based on research into how we humans change our behaviours, giving an overview of The Vegan Society’s work, and showing our short film, Do you want to make history? to an appreciative 300+ audience.
Other inspiring speakers included Vegan Society Honorary Patrons Freya Dinshah (American Vegan Society) and Dr. Michael Klaper, as well as vegans Dr. Michael Greger, Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, Brenda Davis, Dr. Will Tuttle, Dr. John McDougall, Lee Hall, Dan Brook, and Bob Linden.
