Isaac Peña Lobato is a Peruvian lawyer licensed by the Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University, whose thesis was based on a constitutional analysis of bullfighting from an abolitionist approach. His work is devoted to the area of constitutional litigation and indigenous peoples at the Instituto de Defensa Legal (Institute of Legal Defense). He is also a co-founder and responsible for the academic area of animal law in Peru. He is responsible for the legal team that filed a constitutional lawsuit seeking to recognise veganism as an ethical principle protected by freedom of conscience in Peru and the inclusion of an option suitable for vegans at the National University of San Marcos. He has recently published the research report Fundamentos jurídicos-constitucionales de los derechos animals (Legal-constitutional foundations of animal rights) for the Instituto de Defensa Legal. He has participated in colloquiums and activist groups lecturing on animal law and has published interviews and book reviews on animal ethics.
