Vegan-Friendly catering is great for everyone!
Good vegan options are a great solution for caterers. The Vegan Society invites all caterers to join their free Vegan-Friendly Promise scheme. In return, The Vegan Society offers promotional ‘Vegans Catered for Here’ window stickers, a staff training sheet, and more.
Vegan Society CEO and Cordon Vert chef, Nigel Winter, said today, “Good vegan meals appeal to almost any customer. Plant-based food attracts healthy eaters, vegetarians and people on many religious diets, as well as vegans themselves. Whole groups with just one person seeking a plant-based meal will tend to choose the caterer who offers the best vegan options.”
The Vegan-Friendly Promise invites caterers to understand the needs of vegans, and to always offer a good vegan menu option. Vegans enjoy fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, peas, lentils, grains, mushrooms, herbs and plant-based spices, Almost any dish can be made from these ingredients, including shepherd’s pie, spicy bean tortillas and chocolate cake.
The Vegan Society offers professional advice and support to caterers. The Vegan Society can help with staff training, modifying existing recipes to make them suitable for vegans, and sourcing new ingredients, for example. The Vegan Society can also help to promote businesses more widely.
The Vegan-Friendly Promise is part of the ‘Vegan Catering for All’ project. Good vegan food is tasty, healthy, ethical and cuts your carbon footprint. The Vegan Society offers free advice on getting the most from vegan food. Free copies of the full-colour ‘Vegan Catering for All’ booklet are available to all professional caterers on request to The Vegan Society.
