The Vegan Society presented a vegan 'Thought for the Day' on Sun 10 Jan 2010. This was broadcast on BBC WM radio (in the West Midlands of
England) which, unlike BBC Radio 4, allow non-religious speakers on their 'Thought'.
The topic is 'Universal Compassion'. We were required to link to current news stories - we chose UK Environment Secretary Hilary Benn's statement, "We can't take food for granted any more', and the 'Big Freeze' which has gripped the UK.
The 'Thought' was delivered by our Media Officer, Amanda Baker. It was part of the BBC WM 'Andrew Peach Show'. Until Sun 17 Jan 2010, you can listen to the 'Thought' and associated interview at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p001d7hg (about 25 mins in).
If you wish, you can send feedback to bbcwm@bbc.co.uk (and a copy to media@vegansociety.com would also be useful) - and also, share the link.
